Lee Amond is the nom de plume of a guy who was in business his entire career. Even worse, the career was in accounting where fiction is frowned upon.
His early childhood was filled with books and fantasy, encouraged by a teacher-mother. He thought he was going to be an author, until high school when his counselor gave him her advice: “you’ll starve!”
Retired, he is no longer working for money and has completed a novella of his experiences in the Army during 1954-1956. The events are true, but the dialogue is fictional which, in his mind, categorizes the work as historic fiction. A coming of age odyssey is woven through the novella arriving at a conclusion that neither the protagonist nor the reader would anticipate.
